Casa Américo Encruzado grapes comes from a parcel located in Serra da Estrela, the highest moutain in Portugal. The vines are 40 years old and the yields are around 4ton/ha. They are only harvested once they reach their perfect maturation. The palate is creamy, with a nice
acidity and a long and mineral finish.

The grapes were handpicked. Pressed with full destemming with pellicular maceration for 10h at 12ºC. the fermentation started in small stainless-steel vats at controlled temperature and in small 225L French oak barrels, here it rested for 3 months, with battonage. It stays a minimum of 1 year in cold cellar after the bottling and before the release to the market.
