Casa Américo red wine comes from a parcel located in Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain in Portugal. The vineyards have between15 to 40 years. The palate is balanced, with round tannins and a medium finish. It has an Intense ruby color aroma with notes of red fruit and spices.
The grapes were fully destemmed and gently crushed to small stainless-steel tanks. After cold maceration for 24 hours, the fermentation was initiated at a controlled temperature of 23 °C (72ºF) with gentle pumping, in order to make a good extraction of the skins, preserving all the naturals aromas and flavors of the grapes, but at the same time gaining color and complexity.
